This is half family, half sports insider stuff.
About Serena already committed to her college with 2 whole HS seasons still to go. Venus waited for months after that school said they wanted her. Had lots of schools after her. Serena already knew everyone there because she was with her big sister a lot. And, of course, it was all of ours dream they'd be back on the same team again. Like they've been since T-ball. Serena pulled that trigger REAL quick. She had a STACK of letters from schools.
So, that's how it works sometimes in sports and kid sisters. 😎
Dude, that is so sick IBC. You should be a proud man. It is SOOOOO difficult to break into college sports of any kind. You are talking the 1% of the 1% kinda thing.... That is amazing. And for a young lady to be getting full college offers entering her Junior year is out of this world.
And in the "new world" of college sports, who knows, that young lady could get a $$ offer or something in the next year or so. Ya never know. Plenty of male athletes/football players to the commit/de-commit thing. But it sounds like having the girls together is a golden opportunity. Good shit man.
I say sometimes that I honestly don't deserve to witness the stuff my grandkids are managin to accomplish. It's still soakin in they're both goin to college for free. Division 1. 😲
When I said they've been on the same team... It's a private school. Serena was 2 years younger but playin on the HS team same school. Was offensive player of the year a coupla years ago. Wasn't actually in HS, but they let her play anyway. So, they were on the same team even then.
I know the planet could be wiped out by the Martians at any moment, but... I really look forward to seein them 2 together again when they're around 19 and 21yrs old. Not kids no more. Could be EPICO, like Davie504 says. 🤞🙏😎
I'm not sure if Serena still does the twirl. It just started by itself. They actually started callin her Twirl for a while back then. Had a shirt with Twirl on the back. I don't think I tried animated gifs in here yet. This is somethin old I found.
The waist high gnar has graced our humble shores. Still waitin to see the flag level. All Hail the GNAR! 🙌😎
So, the bat spin is the "twirl"? That is a nice move. Classy.
Giant lily show is comin to a close. Chest high flowers are pretty cool. They only do this like twice a year. 🥰
We still got surf, too. 😎🤙

I snip the wilted ones off each mornin. Just to keep it clean lookin. Around 2 dozen total flowers happened. You can see the nubs.
Walked outside this mornin and it was colder than inside my house. Pulled out one of the 2 window ACs. That window is in fall mode now. Can't open it til the unit gets pulled for the winter. One AC is enough for afternoons. Good to have fresh air. Ain't summer no more. Hadda ponder for about 2 microseconds if it was another fullsuite day. Haha
IBC, so check this out: In addition to the Avocado seed that I am germinating, I have basil, cilantro and rosemary bushes growing out back. I just added the rosemary about 2 weeks ago... Anyway, we got our first rain in a couple of weeks on Thursday last week....
Friday evening, when I was outback, I noticed two little yellow mushroom caps growing in the flower pot with the rosemary... I didn't think anything of it....
Saturday morning, when I take the dogs out back, I look at the rosemary plant and these mushrooms have grown like 2-3 inches just in one night.....
By Sunday morning, the mushrooms got so tall that they split in half and wilted because it continued to rain. It rained all day Saturday and all day Sunday....
So, my ChatGPT bot tells me that these mushrooms are "Yellow Flowerpot Parasols".... also called plantpot dapperlings.
Apparently, they are super poisonous, so they say DONT EAT THEM, and keep them away from pets. However, it says that the rosemary plant is fine and there won't be any cross contamination into the herbs....
Anyway, super cool little mushrooms and they are the most aggressive plants I may have every seen.... These fuckers blew up and maxed out in less than 48 hours. Crazy shit...
Oh, dang. We get the occasional shroom outbreak. I don't eat em. ☠️
Rosemary plants rock. I've had that one around 5yrs. 10gal of dirt in there. I know he'd be way bigger if I plant him in the ground. I'm runnin outa places to do that. 😁 I've seen 5 footers here you couldn't wrap your arms around. He started from a 6in twig cut offa one. Was beside the historical Catholic Church by Family Dollar. They dug him up or somethin, cuz he's not there now. So, I kept him goin. There's several smaller ones around the yard. Gave some to the upstairs neighbors. My main reason I like em is that skeeters DON'T. 🤬 Ends up some of the herbs that smell best to humans will chase off the skeeters.
I do put it in my sketti sauce. Basil, too.
Rosemary also makes fun little mini flowers. 😎🤙
I'm probably gonna venture into cilantro soon. I love that stuff. 😋
Surf time. 🤞🌊
Yeah, I am going to start over on the cilantro. About a month ago, I hit up Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, Walmart and a couple of other spots, and all I could find was Basil and Cilantro. The whole town was lacking fresh herbs that week. Anyway, I got a pretty well developed cilantro plant, but in the following weeks, the thing got really tall, and started sprouting flowers and long branches/shoots that are NOT the actual cilantro/herb leafs. So, only about 1/4 of it looks like legitimate, usable cilantro....
At any rate, I also have an indoor hydro/light garden that takes the mini-pods. I haven't used it this year, but I have used it the past few years. Anyway, Basil flourishes and grows really well in those things, but as soon as the basil starts to flower, my wife always says it's time to pull it and toss it. Not sure if it's an old school Italian thing or whatever, but when the Italian's see the flowers start sprouting in fresh herb gardens, they kill them....
Not sure if that holds true with Rosemary. We have huge bushes of it throughout our marina and at work, so we pull stalks of it all the time. I assume it flowers throughout the year, but we use it year in and year out.
So, I am not sure if there is any truth to that flower thing at all, or if it's just an old Italian wives tale that they keep going.
I guess that the thinking is that once the plants flower, they start to lose most of the herb/flavor that the leafs produce and a lot of the flavor and energy ends up in the flowers....
Not sure....
but yeah, I need a proper cilantro plant. I buy fresh cilantro about twice per week. I put it on anything and everything I make that is hispanic.
I am also on the lookout for fresh mint. I don't use that as often, but I put mint in a lot of N/A beverages that I make, and I also make a watermelon/feta salad for dinner once per weekish, and fresh mint is the key to that dish. Fresh mint is the shit.
