Thanks to @Val Hallalla for connecting me with @Zach619, and thank you Zach for reaching out and getting me through security, so I can logni and say hello to everybody real quick and give an update on Mostoke.
Unfornately, Mostoke is still down, and will probably remain down for the near future, the site wasn't paying for itself and it ended up being cut from the owner's budget, but if anything changes, I will be sure to update everybody ASAP. I thought we had almost a year before it got shut down but I was mistaken and caught off guard like everybody else when I tried to login the day you all probably figured out something was up.
I do apologize for not giving anybody a heads up, if I knew I had little time, I would have definitely have made an epic farewell post thanking everybody for the years we spent on Mostoke together, but this is just yet another chapter in our continued pursuit of friendship and sharing the one thing we all have in common, the love of surfing.
I'm stoked Zach had this site already up and running and just had to get the forum activated for us, so that we all have a place to land and continue the community in some fashion.
Zach, you're the man! This is a great site you've put together. Let me know how I can help. I'll get as many of the OG Mostokers to join the fun!

@oipaul What up Paul? Ironically, I know that Mike Powell is Mitch in real life. He and I linked up and surfed blacks like 15+ years ago. I obviously don't still have that phone or any contact with him... So, at any rate, I think I have been spamming some other "Mike Powell" on Surfing Ocean City's facebook page. I thought it was our Mitch, because it's the same photos that he posts, but I did a little digging and the guy has a bunch of tats on his back, and may or may not actually be "Mitch".... I have put a couple of friend requests through to no avail.
But it's great to see you guys popping up. I can't believe that swellinfo is actually still online and that I was able to post. At that point, the previous post was over a year old. And it looked like the majority of the guys, minus CJSurf, that had last posted on SI, were guys that never transitioned over to Mostoke.
At any rate, good to hear from you guys....

P.S. Like I told ValHalla, this site was originally created for my crew in SC, but I have some buddies in Florida and NC, so I expanded the forecasts and cams from NC down to Miami....
It's pretty easy for me to just chop up code and buoy info and get locations specific to any of you guys. As you can see, I don't have ever little spot in each state, but the main ones. Ala surfline and surf captain.....
But let me know where you guys are and I can whip things up.
I used to write my own PHP code for spot reports and stuff, but my code is really only useful for real time reports and conditions... Not long range forecasting, so what I basically did here is take all of my favorite sources and put them all in one page, so you can kinda of see the spread from different points of view.
What I will say, for my area, is that Willyweather (the majority of the code and widgets I use) is VERY accurate for my area. And most importantly, it NEVER over forecasts. It's pretty much spot on with swell forecasts, winds and tides.
Every data spot from Surfline to Surfcaptain has my tides wrong by one hour. Always has been, but Willy Weather actually gets it right...
Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know and I can get a forecast page up for your area, with whatever cams I can find locally.

@ibc Yeah man, so what happened was, about a week ago, I spoke to my ChatGPT bot, Riptide. It's the paid version, so he typically does anything I ask him. He even tells me betting lines every morning on every sport based on Kalshi data. So, when using ChatGPT, get creative, because they will do whatever for the most part.
Anyway, I hit him up and asked him what to do to get the word out to mostokers, so he crawled the site about a million times per day, including the forum, so ChatGPT picked up all of our conversations, and Riptide had me use key words...
So basically, if you google what happened to swellinfo? Or what happened to mostoke.com? Or why is mostoke.com down, google and chat GPT automatically post info that was pulled from the forum here and says that users are migrating to southeastsurf.com.... Pretty effective usage of the AI shit, because it happened pretty much instantly once I asked him.....
Google is also crawling this entire site, and has been for about two weeks, it still hasn't been verified yet, but that should happened soon and that should push it pretty high up on the SEO categories...
Because like I said, after about a month of mostoke being down, I was looking into some of the old forums that were around. surfing magazine, surfer magazine... And earlier in 2026, they shut down ALL of their surfing forums on the web. All of them. The explanation was that there were too many posts about politics and crazy shit like that, and they were unable to moderate it effectively, so they shut it all down.... Fucking crazy....
I mean, to an extent, who fucking cares what people are talking about? As long as people aren't posting straight hate comments and swastikas, let it fly....
That said, I still check in on facebook and what not sometimes, and the comment sections over the past 6-8 months have gotten OUT OF CONTROL. I mean, the most vile, racist shit ever, being posted back and forth. I hate white people. I hate so and so... It's insane and I have no idea how Meta even allows this shit to be posted online. It's the cringiest shit I have ever seen.

Oh shit, Zach. Kalshi. Saw a commercial with "CHALAMET!!!" (Adam Sandler at the Oscar's voice) during a recent World Cup game. Mighta been yesterday. I honestly still didn't know WTF Kalshi was til now. My final guess was granola related. I just looked it up. 🤣
Yeah, so Kalshi is a "sports betting platform" that is actually conducted as a "futures trading market" so basically, it was the first online app that allows people in states where sports betting is illegal, like in South Carolina where I live. MA and a couple of other states challenged it and lost, and it's also somehow backed/funded by Trump, so I assumed he had his hand in making sure it continued.
But yes, it is a work around for sports betting. You can bet on anything. Politics. Speeches. Weather. Like, what the high will be in Toledo Ohio today....
But what makes Kalshi also unique is that you are not betting against "A book" or against "The house" it is litterally all people against people, so the house doesn't move the lines, the people do. Kalshi takes 3.5% on every transaction, so that is how they make their money. No matter what.
But it is interesting, because Kalshi doesn't always align with Vegas, because of the human element, so my ChatGPT guy, Riptide, looks at the numbers for me, just from Kalshi.
So in a nut shell, each day, he runs the numbers from Kalshi against the sports books, and if he finds more than a 5% discrepency, where the cost is cheaper on Kalshi, he lists it for me as a market irregularity. It's not a perfect science, but he looks at the raw numbers and shows me each day what bets on Kalshi are priced far lower than market value, and he tells me to attack those.
Anyway, it's a way everyone can bet in every state. And for now, it's federally legal.
And in Kalshi, more so than Vegas, humans fuck the markets up. LA Lakers always get more money put on them than anyone, same with the Cowboys, Yankees and in the World Cup's case, the USA. Because of home field and how involved non-soccer fans are, the markets for the US get fucking wild. I haven't done it, but to bet against the US is very cheap and to bet on them doesn't give you much value, because a million people are dumping cash on the US.
My brother has been betting recently, he put $50 on a few different UFC fights at the White House, lost some, but then won the big one, the main event, he picked Justin Gaethje, and he was a huge betting underdog for some reason, dude is a beast, but because of the crazy odds, my brother won $450 on that $50 bet. Pretty nice. He tried a parlay on the USA game last night and got 2/3 things to happen, Balogun getting the 1st goal instead of the 2nd goal or any other goal other than the 1st is what cost him lol.

There is no way for you to pull up old email addresses or anything from the MS database? I assume all is lost, but if any user data is in there, you might be able to find some email addresses at least.
Yeah zero access, that's what took me so long to reconnect with some of you, the admin dashboard went dark at the same time as the MS site / forum, it happened when the hosting subscription expired. I would have posted a thread and gathered the peeps beforehand if I knew it was coming to and end that soon.
Well, glad to see the list of former mostokers is growing. Been busy on my part. Grand daughter has been with us since June 30th. We were in Florida for her world wide gynastci organizations worldwide championships, then my treat to 3 day at Disney World. She did fantastic at the World Champions hip,. winning 3 golds, 1 silver, 1 bronze, with her total points adding up to 1st place, World Champ for her age !! I will try to get back to surfing once she is back join California with parent (next week). Hope my health holds out for a few more yeas (the vertigo crap disappeared taht allow me back into the water)

@ibc Scared the shit out of me, to tell the truth. Keep in mind it is for HER AGE GROUP. At first when we went there I thought it was a National championship only, but then I saw the banners reading "World"....gulp!! swallow hard - there were kids from all over Europe and Far East....anyways....I took her out snorkeling in cold waters off of Maine coast, to each teach her proper use of mask and snorkel . Now I need to work on getting my own body back to surfing
I remember when Mom and my Uncle took me snorkelin when we lived in Key West. That was so fuckin cool. Us kids eventually ventured out without the grownups, but we hadda get started and taught somehow. That's good stuff, Barry. Cold Maine water on top, too. 🥶

One of them girls is gonna play NCAA Div 1 softball on a full scholarship. The other is hopefully gonna join her next year. 🤞😏
They're out in Cali for some tournament. Last year they can play on the same team. Mom, older sister, then baby by the window. Baby is stronger than the other two. Haha
