Back to outer space... There's a shitload goin on. Starship is gettin closer to reality, one test flight at a time. Last night's test ended in an incredible way. It softly landed in the Indian Ocean, tipped over, and no fireball. Kinda a miracle, totally unplanned or expected. The dang thing was bobbin around in the seawater, still transmittin live video on multiple cameras through Starlink. You could see cameras goin underwater and shit.
This dude, Scott Manley, is one of my new favorite dudes. Astrophysics genius, software writer, and of course, a Scotsman. He's also an expert in Kerbal Space Program, where you build spaceships and fly em places. Uses that to explain Artemis and shit. Fun as hell. If you wanna see some wild shit, with expert analysis from Mr Scott, forward up to 19:00 and grab a beer. Haha
So... there's a whole Starship bobbin in the Indian Ocean hundreds of miles from Australia. Now, what. Haha
My Reactor Physics teacher in Nuke school. Haha
"It is intuitively obvious to the most disinterested casual observer..." Right after he just blasted some blackboard full of gnar math on our asses. Sometimes he'd write the equations with his right hand, and be erasin em around 3ft over to the left with his other hand, as he walked across the blackboard. Made us keep up. The equations would only stay visible like 10sec. Fuckin chalk shrapnel all over the floor. Little chunks. Rat a Tat Tattin with his Poindexter ass.
Coupla more...
"Anything slower than the speed of light bores me."
Sometimes people would luck up on the right test answer, but for completely bogus reasons.
"G.E.M.M.C.E!!!" would be written in giant red letters. Maybe a sad smiley face.
Gross Egregious Major Maximum Conceptual Error. Dude was a trip.🤓
I didn't take a lotta notes sometimes. I figgered if I really stayed plugged in to what he was sayin, it would hopefully stick. I might say wait a minute... what? My buddy that was the Japanese John Belushi and aced everything with a hangover... He would ask a SHITLOAD of questions. People would tell him shut up. He did NOT give a rat's ass. He'd say shut the fuck up ASSHOLE! You're so fuckin lost you don't even know what I'm askin him. 😲🤣
He was right. His questions were deep AF, and totally on point.
I think I've mentioned my sister's boyfriend is a retired Senior Chief. Has a daughter that's FBI. She'd been in Vegas forever. Gettin transferred to San Antone. Told my sister maybe she finds Pee Wee's bike. She hadda Google it. 🤣
Shorebreak at 30ft Wedge... I've mentioned my upstairs older couple neighbors. Dude has some amazing life stories. Shit Ida tried were I there at the time, almost jealous of him, etc. 🤣
He lived near there waaaay back. Surfed, or maybe went out and watched. He's like Dude! There's this place called The WEDGE! And off he went... He's held some of the best jobs. Fun dude.
I didn't know what to expect with them bananas last year. They were actually quite tasty. I walked around givin everybody here a few. They all told me they liked em. I have no clue what I did, if anything.
I do windows. 🤣 I haven't worked with Yoda much because he's been several miles across the island on houses. He knows I don't really wanna commute. They're restorin all the windows at a cool house nearby. I'm the glass cleaner dude. Razor scraper, Windex, blue paper towels, etc. Them old windows are cool AF. I'm not doin the whole house. The crew is gonna do a few. I already did a bunch 2 weeks ago. Today, I did both sides (in/out) of the 2nd floor ones up over the front door, plus the inside of the windows from there around the side past the chimney. I could stand on that porch roof so didn't need a ladder. 😏
Yoda's goin to visit his twin bro that lives on a golf course in Palm Desert next week. Pretty stoked. All they talk about is golf. It's fun to listen to their daily phone calls. 😎⛳️
I just work til noon. 😎🌴
Well, it's official. I got a granddaughter in college. The whole family drove Venus there and moved her into her dorm this past weekend. Kinda a pinch me so I know I ain't dreamin moment. Our family ain't exactly full of people with college degrees.
I'm kinda leavin my grandson some space to find his spot in the 101st. My ex is the one that's always been connected deep to all the herd. She said he's flyin drones now. I read that the 101st is basically the lead group with next gen drones. So, I'm waitin to hear back from him. Told him I know he ain't sittin somewhere with his cellphone on. Used to take 2 weeks for the mail plane to get all them people size sacks out to our flight deck in 1980. And how I fixed all the radios and got to fly home a day early from the Med cruise in that mail plane. Still one of the coolest things I ever experienced. 😎
This is both a mistake on my part, and a Holy Shit on Serena's. I always figgered her and Venus were a year apart in school. With em bein born a year and a half apart, plus where their birthdays are, it's TWO grades in school. Got that straight now. So, this is her first day of JUNIOR year. She's got 2 more years to get better at HS Softball. I won't be surprised at all if she's better when she hits college than Venus is now. Dang. Two more years.
The grandson is pretty stoked. He finds himself in probably the most involved Company in the whole Army when it comes to UAS, Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The Army designated the 101st as the test bed for all the latest shit. And his Company is a little part that seems the most involved. This only happened within the past few years. Just in time for the kid to show up. 😎🇺🇲👍
This was kinda cool. Ship is almost 150yrs old. Just returned home from a 3 month voyage to NYC. Screenshot and link. Tilman Fertitta's yacht is usually tied up next to Elissa. Our local billionaire. He took the boat over to Italy, bein he's the US Ambassador now. I think his boat cost $400mil.
