Oh, yeah. Serena went to softball camps at 2 different universities the past few days. Reckon just one woulda been too easy or boring. One already said she's definitely gonna hear from em Sept 1st. So, the fun begins... 😏
My daughter never sleeps.
Oh, btw... One of the schools is where Venus is already at. She showed up at her little sister's tryouts. Kinda fun stuff. It's the other school that said right away they'd be in touch soon. Of course, I want her back on the same infield as Venus. And, they already knew about Serena from watchin Venus. 😏
I was thinkin about tellin my grandson about fixin the radios. They show in Top Gun where dudes in CIC, Combat Information Center, the room full of radar scopes and almost no lights, are talkin to pilots. You see dudes writin on plexiglass boards with grease pencils. My best buddy from boot camp was one of em. Not on my ship. He went to OS, Operations Specialist, school at Great Lakes same time I was in ET, Electronics Technician, school. They hadda learn how to write backwards. They're on the other side of them boards. He showed me all his homework. Crazy lookin words.
I'd rarely have to go in there. All the radios were in my room. I might bring em a few new handsets we put in a box for em. Take the bad ones back and fix em. It was so dark when I first walked in that I'd wait like 10 secs to adjust before walkin in more. Fuckin mushrooms, they were called mushrooms... keep us in the dark and feed us bullshit- haha... where was I... oh yeah... fuckin mushrooms in there wearin shades and laughin at me.
So, yeah... My buddy could write backwards. He also introduced me to Uncle Ted. He was from Detroit. Ted Nugent hadn't gone nationwide wide yet. You shoulda seen the shock when I told him I never heard of Stranglehold. He was fun.
Venus broke her leg near the ankle slidin into home last night during a scrimmage game. Bone showin. She was really chargin hard. They put her under briefly last night to reset the bone. Just now got outa surgery. Gonna be several munts of rehab. Season starts next spring. My daughter lives 90min from the college, so she's been at the hospital since last night. Nobody saw THAT comin. 😲

Damn bro. Prayers for a quick, and full recovery. That sucks. Just a freak accident. She was trucking with FORCE if it resulted in that. Keep us posted. Sounds like there is plenty of time before next spring, but she will have to work hard. Some of the biggest challenges with sports injuries like that are just rebuilding confidence in the ankle and being able to put 110% of your forcing and turning on it once the real competition starts up again.
Damn IBC, that sucks. But, in 2026, people come back from career ending injuries in like 8 weeks and stuff.
Damn, that sucks IBC, prayers for a speedy recovery.
Shit IBC, that really sucks. A few months out she will be fine-- she is young, unlike us old farts, and she will well and soon. Make sure to encourage her to comply with Physical Training to bring it on home as best possible!!
Thanks, y'all. Coach said Venus is probably one of the strongest girls she's ever seen. I don't think she's ever been injured. Certainly not like this. She's just gotta get over the sadness and get back to class and then rehab. I'm glad the college wasn't in Oregon or somethin. Easy road trip.
Venus is sorta up on crutches now. She's gonna go home for a short time. Do all her classes online til she can get back in there physically. She told the ambulance people she had a quiz due that night. No shit.
If you're gonna have your big sports career injury, get it outa the way early, I reckon. It's just up up and away from here. Season ain't til next year. 😉
Testing, testing, 1-2-3.
Having a hard time making an account.
andddd it worked! I have an account! Yay!
@eatswell Welcome brother. Let me know if you have any issues logging in or with the site. It's a work in progress.
Also, if you chime in with your general location, I will make sure to add a forecast area to your region if there isn't already one.
Welcome to our new house. 😎🤙
I'm watchin the webcam last night. All these cop cars swoop in on Murdoch's and close the Seawall. This is different. Apparently some stuff was found and exploded by the bomb dudes.

If someone was lookin in here at the Galveston surf cam last night, they woulda saw what I did. That's what was on my TV when they all showed up.
Sept 1st was when colleges could start contactin HS kids. Serena got called by Venus's school. She's gonna be talkin more with em soon. So, fingers crossed that all goes well. 🤞 She's kinda stoked. A little. 😏
If her girl Rottweiler turned into a human, it would be her. Strongest girl in the family. Used to be stronger than her big brother til he got serious in the gym. She's reeeeally good with animals and an A student. Smart as hell. I told my daughter she oughta become a vet. Dr. Doolittle. We shall see... 😎
Told my daughter it would be cool as hell to save a tiger. 😁
Eddie Murphy was a great Dr Doolittle.
DosXX would like this. Him bein a Aggie and all. Sea Aggies got em a rebuilt like new trainin vessel. They got their own ship over on Pelican Island. Screenshot and IG link.

That screenshot is right after the ball bounced offa the net and barely Mom's face. 🤣
Kinda sweet Low Rider reveal recently. Serena at Homecoming. Ends up that's Dad's secret longtime car project. He must really trust homeboy. Has hydraulics. Bouncy. Maybe more pics as I learn more.
My daughter posts this pic... I'm like... Ok, that's nice... We wanna know more about that car. Of course, it's an Impala. 😎🤙
